Black Veined Jasper

Jasper is a variety of Quartz. The name Jasper comes from the Greek word for ‘spotted stone’. Jaspers are found all over the world and can include up to 20% of foreign material which can create many different varieties of colours. Some Jaspers have nodules or filled in fissures with many different patterns or colour combinations within.

Black Veined Jasper is grey and white with black veins running through it. It is also called Spider Web Jasper as the veins also look like a spider’s web. It is a mixture of quartz and chalcedony. The black colouring is caused by more manganese being present.

 

Black Veined Jasper is great for grounding. It helps bring your energy back to yourself. When you feel scattered or overwhelmed it is good to hold Jasper. It assists you to feel calmer, more positive, balanced, stable and centred. It is a stone that enhances our own power, stamina and endurance.
